Perf-a-Lawn Maintenance Schedule

At Perf-a-Lawn we offer up to six different treatments, each treatment is applied approximately 5-7 weeks apart. Our treatment schedule is as follows:

 Treatment

 Months treatment is applied

 1 - Early Spring

 February - March

 2 - Late Spring

 April - May

 3 - Early Summer

 June - July

 4 - Summer

 July - August

 5 - Late Summer/Fall

 August - September

 6 - Late Fall

 September - November

Early Spring - Balanced rate of granular fertilizer. Enhances root development, increases disease and drought tolerance.

Late Spring - Balanced rate of granular fertilizer with pre-emergent to help resist crabgrass and summer annual weeds.

Early Summer - Liquid treatment of balanced fertilizer and broadleaf weed control. Surface insect control is applied as needed.

Summer - Balanced rate of slow release granular fertilizes, surface insect and weed control is applied as needed.

Late Summer/Fall - Liquid treatment of balanced fertilizer and broadleaf weed control.

Late Fall - Balance rate of granular fertilizer. This will promote root development and allows for early spring green up.

*This is the basic schedule of treatments. As our customer, you are not required to receive every treatment. However, the less treatments you receive, there is a larger chance of your lawn not being properly fertilized throughout the year.

*You are also able to choose what type of application you want to receive, (i.e. liquid or granular). All you have to do is call the office and let them now what kind of treatment you want and the rest will be taken care of.

Fertilizer at this time is crucial for an early spring green-up. These are also the months when we can most effectively control crabgrass and foxtail. You must act quickly though, to ensure the greatest percentage of control. Broadleaf weed control is included only after temperatures have reached 45'or above, weather permitting.
Fertilization along with broadleaf weed control will be applied at this time. Please remember we can only control those broadleaf weeds showing at the time of application. This is a critical time for insect activity to start. Insecticides will b added as needed to control surface feeding insects.
Much more difficult weeds come in at this time. Heavier strength treatments will be included for broadleaf weeds, hot weather brings out the chinchbugs and sod webworms. Insecticides are applied as needed to control them. Fertilizer is applied at this time to sustain your lawn through the high stress of summer heat.
Fertilizers are applied to prepare your lawn for early fall. Herbicides and insecticides are applied as needed for increased control of weeds and surface damaging insects.
Fertilizers are applied to enhance proper root development and to promote thickening of your lawn. Broadleaf weed control is included as long as the temperature is above 45 degrees and weather permitting.
Fertilizer will be used to help prevent winter stress and promote healthy root development. Your lawn will also green-up earlier next spring.
